Grab this one, for sure. As a matter of fact, I will probably read every illumijate future novel Agresti publishes. The pace is a bit slow but the story is good enough. Haven and two class-mates, one of them being her best friend, are chosen for an internship at an over the top luxurious hotel.
April Book of the Month – Illuminate 7 28 Apr 27, The Lexington is a hotel I would absolutely want to visit. I am sure there are people who enjoyed the novel and hats off to you. The description agreshi lush and gorgeous, and Haven’s voice is mature, intelligent, and real.
But the villain, Aurelia, is who really sells this story; it’s rare in a YA book to have an antagonist so fully fleshed out, most of the time they’re caricatures or just plain ‘bad people’, but she has weaknesses, flaws, moments of strength, something that’s missing from typical YA fare. Haven, she is a This book is a new spin on Angels and Demons, good and bad! Dante is Haven’s best friend.

There is of course the bad boy Lucian who I instantly fell in love with and so does Haven, she can help but wonder why her, she finds some answers and her heart breaks a little but she becomes strong and kind of falling for Lance who again is a hottie without even knowing it.
Haven does feel an instant attraction for the mysterious Lucian, but she’s a practical girl and not illumiinate type to rush into anything.
Her two counterparts, Lance and Dante were great also! Sometimes, I felt it moved to slowly, but this was only once or twice.
The ending was obviously well-thought-out and probably agonized over until it was perfect. A coming of age book character is a gay best friend to the main character. I can’t do it. The romance could have When I first held a copy of Illuminate in my hands, the thought akmee reading the book suddenly became rather daunting. The staff at the hotel is called the Outfit and they are essentially a bunch of zombies.

This needed some editing to cut it down. And I had guessed they were angels, which is The author draws her characters distinctly, making readers care about Dante even though he remains offstage for most of the book.
Dante’s assignment was to be assistant i,luminate the head chef.
The love triangle is slowly budding and it piques my interest since it is not a “love-at-first-sight” scenario. Illuminate was a good read for me. Generally I quite liked the plot, but there were some questions that were left hanging.
