It makes it a little hard to read at times, but it doesn’t hurt the book all that much. Oct 11, Zuray rated it did not like it Shelves: The ending definitely permits a sequel. I’m all for a good Vampire story these days but this one so cheesy in places I couldn’t help but giggle a little.
Even leaving aside the oddity of that naming scheme, did author Kate Carey ever stop to think how distinctly odd it would be for Mina, whatever one presumes her relationship with the elder Count was, to have an affair with an eventually marry his son? Thirty-five years have passed since the death of the Master.

He is invited by Lily to stay with her and John when he returns to the Hall just before John wakes up. John Shaw is one of his lieutenants, who witnesses the atrocious nighttime exploits of his captain and who returns to England to convalesce and recover from his injuries, haunted by what he’s seen. I first read the original Dracula a few years ago but I blodline still remember enough to piece together the important parts of the story that were woven together with ‘Bloodline’.
The story itself progresses in nearly the same way Dracula does and at that point I was bored with it all. However, Harker begins to seduce Lily, which worries John, as he’s seen Harker’s cruelty in the trenches. I don’t blame her, she has to make a living, but I’ve been waiting years for a third installment, and it’s one of those books that, when you first finish it, you want to immediately start the next one, so even waiting for the library to get it from another branch is frustrating.
Harker carries him back to the trench, which saves his life. I’ll put it this way: Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Harker is famous for going on raids in the enemy trenches alone at night, and shows several feats of superhuman strength that seem impossible. I wish the story had stayed in England bloodlinf gone in an original direction–the author had done a good job of laying the foundation for a fresh follow-up to the classic kkate without the need to actively re-visit it.

Even though I have no interest in reading other books in this series, I wouldn’t go so far as to say this book is as atrocious as Twilight. There was a problem filtering reviews right now. A night raid is when Captain takes bpoodline people with him at night onto no man’s land and sneak over to the german side of the war and kill them.
Oct 22, Iris Nevers rated it really liked it. The highlight of course, when one reads this book with the perverse delight of reading bad fan fiction, comes with Mina’s appearence, as she persistently acts like a badly written Evil Queen from a fairy tale. And what real purpose did it serve to add this new character?

When the setting shifts from the battlefield back to England and the romance element takes over the pace starts to slow. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. It also gives me a sense of adventure whether it was in the trenches in France or the poor land in Transylvania. kaet
The minute he found out he was half-vampire like we bloodilne had guessed, and HOW?! Apparently, the bt vampire who had an affair with Mina after the original novel’s bloidline, and who took her to Transylvania after Jonathan’s unexpected death, was not Count Dracula at all, but rather Count Dracula’s son, Tepes. Captain Harker responds to her that he will be in England for business and will be sure to visit both Lily and John. Published August 17th by Razorbill first published August 18th She reads his diary and quickly falls in love with John.
This cry definitely it! Throughout the book the main character, John, is being haunted by Drac Bloodline by Kate Cary Imagine being in bed and having nightmares for 2 months straight, only for these dreams of reality to be true the effects of paranormal specimens on the mind can be quite effective.
It also meant that it was difficult sometimes to know where my sympathies lay because not everything was as black and white as it first seemed. Throughout the book the main character, John, is being haunted by Dracula’s descendants.
The author did a good job with how the story changes between all the other characters in the book. It’s not like other books about vampires.
This book takes place in WWI, and it doesn’t just tell you that it makes you feel it. They should have been removed prior to blooline it to me. After that, the action progresses with overwhelming speed, complete with revelations about bloodlime that either leave no one surprised or come out of nowhere, characters switching loyalties at the drop of a hat, and plans made absurdly far in advance.
For a start, not many original characters are used other than Mary’s father. This there romance in this book?
